Privacy Policy
Effective 14 October 2026 · Applies to the apps published by Mekhane Apps on the Atlassian Marketplace and to this website.
1. Who we are
Mekhane Apps is the trading name of Sebastián Esperanza, an independent software developer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the limited personal data described below and we, not Atlassian, are responsible for how our apps handle End User Data. Contact: support@mekhaneapps.com.
2. Our apps run on Atlassian
Our apps are built on Atlassian Forge and run entirely on Atlassian’s infrastructure. They have no servers operated by us, and they do not send data to us or to any third party. We cannot access the content of your notes, reminders or your Atlassian site.
3. What data the apps process
| App | Data | Purpose | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|---|
| Follow-up Reminders for Jira | For each reminder: the issue ID and key, the scheduled time, status, your note, and the Atlassian account IDs of the person who created it and of the recipients. Names and email addresses are not stored; they are looked up from Jira when displayed. The app reads the issue summary, due date, assignee and reporter, and each user’s time zone and locale. | Delivering the reminder at the right time to the right people, by Jira email and, if you opt in, a comment mentioning them; showing your reminders. | Atlassian Forge hosted storage for your site, within Atlassian’s data residency arrangements. Email is sent by Jira. |
| Mermaid Diagrams Live Editor for Confluence | The Mermaid source and display settings of each diagram, stored in the macro’s configuration inside the Confluence page. No personal data; the app reads no other content and no user data. | Drawing the diagram on the page and in the editor preview; including the source in exports. | Inside the Confluence page (Atlassian-hosted). The app has no storage of its own. |
| Markdown Live Editor for Confluence | The Markdown source and display settings of each macro, stored in the macro’s configuration inside the Confluence page; the source is added to the Confluence search index. No personal data; the app reads no other content and no user data, and loads no external images. | Rendering the content on the page and in the editor preview; making it searchable; converting it for exports. | Inside the Confluence page (Atlassian-hosted). The app has no storage of its own. |
| Mermaid Diagrams Live Editor for Jira | For each diagram: the issue ID, a title, the Mermaid source, the theme and timestamps. No personal data: the app does not record who created or edited a diagram, and reads only the issue ID and key. | Showing the issue’s diagrams to everyone who can view the issue; removing them when the issue is deleted. | Atlassian Forge hosted storage for your site, within Atlassian’s data residency arrangements. |
| Rich Text Notes for Jira | The content of each note (formatted text you write) and the time of the last save. No account IDs or other personal identifiers are stored. | Showing the note on the dashboard and its last-updated time. | Atlassian Forge hosted storage for your site, within Atlassian’s data residency arrangements. |
The apps request only the Atlassian permissions (“scopes”) they need. Rich Text Notes requests storage:app only; it cannot read issues, projects, users or any other data in your site. Follow-up Reminders requests storage:app, read:jira-work, write:jira-work and read:jira-user, used only as described in the table above. Mermaid Diagrams Live Editor for Confluence and Markdown Live Editor request no product scopes at all; Mermaid Diagrams Live Editor for Jira requests storage:app and read:jira-work.
4. Data retention and deletion
Note content and reminders stay in Forge storage while the app is installed. Deleting a gadget does not immediately delete its stored note; deleting a reminder or its issue deletes the reminder; uninstalling the app makes all stored data subject to Atlassian’s Forge storage retention and deletion rules. You can ask us to help remove specific data at any time by writing to the address above; because we do not hold the data, such requests are carried out through the app itself or by your Atlassian administrator.
5. Data we collect from you directly
If you email us, we keep your message and address to answer you and to keep a record of support history. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
6. This website
This website is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address under Google’s privacy terms.
7. Atlassian
Atlassian processes data as described in the Atlassian Privacy Policy and operates the Forge platform on which our apps run. Marketplace purchases are handled by Atlassian; we receive aggregated licensing information (site name, plan, user tier) but not payment details.
8. Security
We rely on Atlassian’s platform security for data at rest and in transit. Our apps sanitize all content before displaying it and store no credentials. Security concerns: support@mekhaneapps.com.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your supervisory authority. Argentine users may contact the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública.
10. Changes
Effective 14 October 2026: added Follow-up Reminders for Jira, Mermaid Diagrams Live Editor for Confluence and for Jira, and Markdown Live Editor for Confluence.
We will post changes on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify administrators of installed apps through the Marketplace.
